About

My Story.
My Mission.

Daneesha Provo

Founder/CEO of ProvoElite Training

My name is Daneesha Provo, born and raised in North Preston, Nova Scotia, Canada, a prestigious black community. I am a professional basketball player, this sport has enabled countless opportunities for me which I am very grateful for. I started playing this game when I was six years old and I have already accomplished so many of my goals through hard work and dedication. I was fortunate enough to receive a free education because of my accomplishments on the basketball court. I attended the University of Utah for five years and graduated with a bachelors in Health Science and Sociology with a minor in Disability Studies. I have had the honor of representing my country and being a part of the Canadian Women’s National Basketball Team for the last 8 years. I have traveled around the world creating memories, friendships and priceless basketball experiences that I will forever cherish for the rest of my life. My goal for my organization is to help create these opportunities for the next generation for female basketball players, especially minorities here in Nova Scotia.

I have endured a lot of blood, sweat and tears along my journey as a young female basketball player. My motivation to become the best version of myself on and off the court has come from being told I wasn’t good enough. As an inspiring young black woman I have faced many challenges and adversity due to the color of my skin. I am a living testimony that with faith, commitment and passion you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

I suffered two major injuries during my basketball career with a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) on my right knee in 2019 and an Achilles tendon rupture on my left foot in 2021. Injuries are a part of sports and it has challenged me to think outside the box while rehabbing. During this downtime away from basketball I have had the opportunity to learn more about myself. I strongly believe through my journey as an elite female basketball player, I serve as a great resource for the next generation. My organization will allow me to share the tools I have learned along the way to help impact women’s basketball players in Nova Scotia.
